As a National Sales Consulting associate director, Val supports and promotes Delaware Life product sales through retirement income planning strategies that focus on risk management, distribution, and tax planning. He is a liaison to wholesalers and serves as a business partner to their financial professionals by communicating, identifying, and helping to close advanced sales opportunities. He also manages the internal sales desk.

With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Val has extensive knowledge of domestic and international distribution of mutual funds, annuities, and investment contracts. Prior to Delaware Life, he held various wholesaling and management roles at leading financial and investment management companies, including the vice president/head of sales for new business development in Asia for a major insurance carrier. His primary focus was on product strategy and development of new distribution channels in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Val built international distribution in the Americas, Middle East, and Asia, growing Middle East sales and distribution from zero to $300 million in five years. Val has Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 licenses and holds the following designations: Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®). Val earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and his MBA from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
